Hair removal with laser
Hair growth on the face and body is perceived by many as cosmetically or hygienically disturbing. Epilation with a laser is a gentle way of removing these unwanted hairs over a long period of time.
In contrast to the other superficial hair removal options such as shaving, waxing, epilators or depilatory creams, laser therapy or the flash lamp influences the hair root and thus the formation site of the hair.
The light beam is absorbed by the dye in the hair (melanin), which creates a warming effect that destroys the hair root. The surrounding tissue is spared. If the hair contains little melanin (blonde, white hair, very fine hair), the therapy does not work because the laser beam cannot be absorbed. The best response is for people with dark, thick hair and light skin.
The treatment is most successful when the hair is in the growth phase. Since the hair grows in cycles and goes through different phases, several treatments are necessary. A hair reduction of up to 80% is realistic. The hairs still growing after the therapy are thinner, lighter and therefore less disturbing than before the treatment.
At least four weeks before the therapy, the hair should no longer be plucked or epilated. Furthermore, the therapy should not be carried out on tanned skin, preferably in the winter months.
The Dermanence team will be happy to provide you with detailed information about the therapy and answer your questions during a consultation.
