Hair growth on the face and body is perceived by many as cosmetically or hygienically disturbing. Laser epilation is a gentle way to remove these unwanted hairs in a long-lasting manner;
In contrast to the other, superficial hair removal options such as shaving, waxing, epilator or depilatory creams, laser therapy affects the hair root and thus the site where the hair is formed. We use a diode laser for laser hair removal, which is the worldwide gold standard. Long-lasting results and a low-pain treatment speak for the diode laser.
The light beam is absorbed by the pigment in the hair (melanin), creating a heat effect that specifically destroys the hair root. The surrounding tissue is spared. If the hair contains little melanin (blond, white hair, very fine hair), the therapy does not work because the laser beam cannot be absorbed. The best response is in people with dark, thick hair and light skin.
The treatment is most successful in terms of timing when the hair is in the growth phase. Since hair grows in cycles and goes through different phases, several treatments are necessary. A hair reduction of up to 80% is realistic. However, the hair that still grows back after the therapy is thinner, lighter and therefore less disturbing than before the treatment.
Hair should not be plucked or epilated for at least four weeks before the therapy. Furthermore, the therapy must not be carried out on tanned skin, so treatment is preferably recommended in the winter months.
