Pediatric dermatology

Skin diseases in children
Children are not small adults. This is also evident in their skin. Baby skin in particular is much thinner, more sensitive and less protected than adult skin. It still lacks its natural protective acid mantle and tends to be dry due to reduced sebum and sweat gland function. It therefore requires regular care and suitable children's products.

Children's skin is also protected differently from the sun. In the first year of life, babies should not be exposed to the sun at all if possible; after that, sun protection products with physical or mineral light protection filters that do not penetrate the skin are suitable. Common skin problems in childhood include diaper dermatitis, neurodermatitis and infections such as molluscum contagiosum, plantar warts or fungal infections.

The dermatologists at Dermanence will be happy to assess and advise you so that your child can enjoy being a child without skin problems.
