Labiaplasty reduction surgery

Corrective surgery in the genital area is often delayed for a long time despite severe functional and aesthetic impairments. Correction of the labia minora is a low-risk procedure with very high patient satisfaction. Excess tissue in the labia minora can be congenital, but can also be caused by pregnancy or ageing processes. The irritating tissue causes discomfort in everyday life, such as when sitting for long periods, walking or doing sport. Sex life can also be negatively affected. Surgical correction to reduce the labia minora can improve well-being and alleviate discomfort.

The procedure can be performed under local anaesthetic without any problems. A short anaesthetic is rarely necessary. The surgeon removes the excess tissue and can then adjust the size and shape. The operation takes about 60-90 minutes, depending on the extent of the excess tissue.

As with any surgical procedure, there are some risks and possible complications associated with labiaplasty reduction. These can include temporary swelling, haematoma, infection or asymmetry. It is important that you receive thorough and personalised advice from the surgeon before the procedure and clarify all your questions.

After the operation, you should take it easy for a few days and follow your surgeon's instructions to support the healing process and achieve the best possible result.

Look forward to the new you. Arrange your consultation with Dr Tatjana Lanaras now.
