Melasma (synonym: chloasma) refers to large-scale pigment spots that appear on the face, which occur in individuals with a genetic predisposition due to hormonal influence in combination with UV radiation. Due to the hormonal influence, women who use hormonal contraception (e.g., with birth control pills) or pregnant women are particularly affected. Affected areas are mainly the forehead, cheeks (cheekbone region), and above the upper lip. Melasma is a chronic pigmentation disorder that requires a long-term treatment strategy. Possible treatment options include brightening creams (e.g., Cyspera), chemical peels, or laser therapy (LaseMD from Lutronic with the inclusion of tranexamic acid or Starwalker from Fotona). The basis of any therapy is consistent sun protection and brightening skincare products.
Age spots are benign, usually sharply defined pigment spots, which, as the name suggests, occur more frequently with age. They preferably form on sun-exposed skin areas such as the face, décolleté, forearms, or backs of the hands. Unlike freckles, they hardly fade in winter. Age spots are flat and not palpable. They can be best removed with a laser. At Dermanence, age spots are treated with the Q-switched Nd-YAG laser. During laser therapy, the skin must not be tanned and should not be exposed to the sun, so it is primarily performed in winter.
This refers to dark pigmentation that occurs after an inflammatory process such as acne or eczema. These pigmentations sometimes fade on their own but can also be very persistent. Possible treatment options include brightening creams (e.g., Cyspera), chemical peels, or laser therapy (LaseMD from Lutronic with the inclusion of tranexamic acid). The basis of any therapy is consistent sun protection and brightening skincare products.

If you are not sure which aesthetic treatments are best suited to your individual needs, we recommend a no-obligation consultation with one of our dermatologists. The consultation costs CHF 100 and takes about 20 minutes. This amount will be deducted from the cost of your aesthetic treatment. The consultation costs and aesthetic services must be paid directly on site after the procedure. In order to be able to assess your facial skin in the best possible way, please come to the aesthetic consultation without make-up.
The following payment conditions apply to so-called self-pay services, which are not covered by TARMED and are therefore not covered by health insurance: 30 days total amount, or the option to make partial payments of your choice with attractive interest rates (minimum payment 5% of the outstanding amount per month). In case of insufficient creditworthiness, no invoice can be issued and the amount is due immediately after the treatment on site. If necessary, creditworthiness can be clarified in advance.
Appointments that have already been made can be canceled free of charge up to 24 hours before the appointment. Please inform us by phone, email, Whatsapp or a voice message on the answering machine. To cancel an appointment booked online, use the cancel button in the confirmation email. If an appointment is canceled less than 24 hours before the appointment or not canceled at all (no-show), the patient is liable for compensation. If a treatment can no longer be carried out due to a patient delay, the obligation to pay compensation also applies.
