The upper arm lift is performed under general anesthesia. The surgeon makes an incision on the inside of the upper arm, which normally runs from the armpit to the elbow. The excess skin is removed through this incision. The volume of the upper arms is usually reduced by liposuction during the same operation so that the subsequent skin removal can be performed more easily. The operation usually takes around 2 hours, depending on your individual situation
As with any surgical procedure, there are some risks and possible complications with an upper arm lift. These may include temporary swelling, bruising, infection, irregular scarring, asymmetry, residual excess skin or temporary numbness. It is important that you receive thorough and individual advice from the surgeon before the operation and that all your questions are clarified.
After the operation, you should take it easy for a few days and follow your surgeon's instructions to support the healing process and achieve the best possible result.
