Hair loss treatment with PRP
Many people suffer from increased hair loss. Hair loss can have various causes, such as a vitamin or iron deficiency, stress, acute illnesses or hormone changes. The most common cause is androgenetic hair loss. This occurs not only in men, but also in women. It is always important to have a medical examination beforehand to find out what form of hair loss is present so that the right therapy can be initiated.

FAQ
What is PRP?
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is platelet-rich plasma obtained from the patient’s own blood by centrifugation in a specially made tube. The platelets contain growth factors and biological building blocks that stimulate cell renewal of the hair roots and thus hair growth.
Which forms of hair loss can be treated with PRP?
According to the studies conducted so far, PRP therapy can be used primarily for circular and androgenetic hair loss. In the case of congenital hair loss, it is important to start the therapy at an early stage. If the hair roots have completely disappeared, they can no longer grow back.
PRP after hair transplantation?
PRP therapy is also advisable after hair transplants. The scalp heals faster, the growth rate of the grafts (follicular units) is increased and the hair growth rate is increased. The loss of existing hair is also reduced. 3 treatments are recommended. A few days after the transplant, after 2-4 weeks and after 3 months.
How is the therapy carried out?
At the beginning, blood is taken and centrifuged so that the platelet-rich plasma separates from the rest of the blood. After disinfection of the skin, the PRP is injected into the scalp to the hair roots with the so-called MesoGun. If you are sensitive to pain, it is advisable to take a painkiller 30-60 minutes before the therapy. 3 treatments are recommended at 4-weekly intervals, then a booster therapy every 6-12 months.
